Spanish themed food. Food was very good. The paella is good value and arguably feeds three rather than two. Location is lovely, perfect if you want a walk in the Chilterns. Beer was good. Had Side Pocket on from the Tring Brewery just down the road when I was there and one from the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow.

Went out of our way to try this out now it's under new management. Beautiful old English pub set in a lovely village. When we went (April 2013) it seemed like the landlord was in the process of trying to get it back up and running. Few nice local ales on tap. Cash only till (no cards) and no real food (yet). Time will tell if this old pub becomes as good as its former years.

under new ownership, and hopefully back on its way up. trevor, the new landlord is a top bloke and hopefully wil have the place buzzing again, after the last couple of tennants alomst killed the place.

the pub itself is just gorgeous. low ceilings, beams, huge fire place and nicely situated amongst lots of walks in the chilterns. decent outdoor area to enjoy the country views a sunny day too.

looking forward to visiting again soon

Popped in the other day on my way home from work (it had been one of those days) - really nice proper old English pub with a nice warm cosy feel. Met by the landlord who took one look at me and knew I was in need of a bit of de stress and he knew when to talk to me and when to leave me be. Not that I drink ale or beer for that matter but there were several ales I didn't know with some unusual names but in general there was plenty of choice. Had my drink, read a couple of papers which were there on a table to pick from and went on my merry way but will definitely pop in again as I was made to feel really welcome and had a very pleasant relaxing hour of me time.
