multiple hen/stag parties happening here every weekend. The garden is great to smoke and have a drink too. The inside sometimes is smelly but you notice it only when its almost empty :S overall nice place to go for a drink

hen/stag night hades. Rammed at weekends, a literal physical fight for bar attention. Ominously the only pub in edinburgh I've been asked to leave (cos of a friend's actions before you ask :-) ). The bouncers are expletives deleted.

Awful, awful, awful!
My friend had booked a private room for his 21st and we arrived to find that guests were not being allowed in and made to QUEUE OUTSIDE! I appreciate that it was very busy (as it coincided with a football game) but as lots and lots of people left, the power-drunk bouncers let in people who arrived after us walking in off the street. This is disgusting as the birthday boys mum had gone to a lot of effort and paid a lot of money only to find that guests for a PRIVATE function wouldn't be allowed in. When she asked to speak to the manager, he sat hiding in his office, claiming he was too busy while the power-drunk bouncers were left to deal with the problem.
To add insult to injury the manager then opened up a private entrance for a group of 20 or 30 skantily clad woman (who had arrived well after us) to let them in around the side of the building.
This evening says a lot about the type of venue this is and the HORRENDOUS management it is under.

I WILL NEVER DRINK HERE AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE THAT I LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW BAD THIS VENUE IS!

Popped in last thursday for a pint and something to eat. Large bar which i expect gets very busy at weekends. Was still quite busy in the afternoon when i visited. Beer was ok and the food was excellent.

Though I have had a few good nights in here, it's not in my top 20 drinking venues in Edinburgh. It can be a laugh (especially when someone you are with wins 1 minute behind the bar! Painful but great!) but as mentioned in previous review, it stinks of vomit more often than not and is a haven for hen/stag parties. Not my idea of fun, but every so often it can be wicked. Try at your own discretion.
