Just reading through my last 'comment' about the Bee. Re the magician - I intended to write 'The waiter told us there had not been a magician there for a long time - maybe almost a year'

Three of us went to The Bee on 29th June 2011, a Wednesday night. Great atmosphere greeted us and we really thought we were in for a great night. However we soon became very dissappointed. Our starters were fine - but the ribeye steak was awful - far too tough especially for the price (19.50) Two of us sent our steak dinners back - which took 'ages' to be returned-and was no better 2nd time around-and ended up not eating it. We didn't try any puddings we just had coffee. The Bee did not charge us for 1 of the steaks or for our 3 coffees - But we still came out with a 100 bill. A very expensive night for a very dissappointing meal. In addition to that the waiter could not stop coughing - and obviously that all went over our dinners too. Luckily we didn't catch his 'cough'. Also, no magician as advertised on their webpage and we were told they had had one for almost a year - so that was a bit of false advertising. Sorry - The Bee got the 'THUMBS DOWN' from us. What a shame

Used the pub regularly, ate there too, and have to say we really like the place. The young staff are all keen - what they lack in age and training they make up for in personality. Food was very good, even when the fed us after the kitchens were supposed to be closed for the evening.
Only fault I can find is that the beer is ridiculously expensive - well over 4 for a Peroni!! Puts a big hole in the wallet if you're there for an ening wth a mate like ine! Otherwise, very very good.

This pub never disapoints, Warm welcome, open fire, good selection of well kept beers, good wine list, service is always faultless and with a smile, the food is fantastic always seasonal and theres always something that is reared or farmed localy. combinations are exciting and presentation spot on best dining pub in the area for miles and the magican is something ive never seen before well worth a vist!

I like the refreshing changes to this pub which I have visited often over the years. Great food nicely presented although it would be better if the portions were more in the range of hearty pub food rather than heading towards nouvelle cuisine proportions.

Cool magician!
