The George is a nice JDW in the centre of Croydon. 5 guest handpumps, also some kegs, bottles and cans, several new to me. The Wetherspoons app worked (order and pay from the table) but not for the guest ales. Sigmund - 17 Mar 2020 21:39 |
Slerpy (last poster/barred from most Croydon hostelries) is drunk, using the George wi-fi - again. Hence the usual rubbish, with caps and bad spelling. Soon to be banned from the excellent George too! One of Croydon's very sad cases. randolf7 - 28 Sep 2019 17:44 |
The George haS NOW GONE FROM BAD TO WORSE,THE ONLY BEERS WORTH DRINKING ( A TAD MORe EXPENSIVE THAN THE USUAl dross) SUCH As Burning Sky Aurora and plateau are no longer order and the back bar has a certificate stating that a minimum of one Oakham beer will be on at all times but this is a 'spoons and so without saying it is not honoured. slerpy - 27 Sep 2019 20:11 |
A new manager and within weeks the standards at this pub have dropped beyond belief! The back bar seems to be closed at most times, the beer quality has sunk. Not worth my time now. slerpy - 10 Aug 2019 20:10 |
Quite a good pub for a Wetherspoons. Which may be damning with faint praise but there you go. It is not too large nor cavernous, and being very central gets a lot of custom, not just Wethertramps. Beware the steps to the (gents') toilet and the way back - must be worse if inebriated (and why wouldn't you be?) rainlight - 26 Jun 2019 18:30 |
