| Am I really the first person to post about Major Tom’s? Looks like I am! It’s a very trendy bar upstairs from a vintage clothing, ceramics and music emporium. The area is open plan with the bar to your left as you enter and a mish mash of tables and chairs in the middle & round the edges. The walls are adorned with vintage movie posters and there's a large bookcase with vintage magazines to read as well as daily newspapers. Music plays softly, enough to listen to but not that you cannot speak over it without shouting. Now onto the beers, the 4 cask pumps all have ales from Yorkshire on including Rooster's Major Tom's Social @ 3.7% which was my choice and was very drinkable and affordable at £3.00 a pint. In addition there's 4 ales on keg, these are priced per third or half, whereas the cask ales are all per pint, all prices are displayed on a board by the bar. About a 3rd full on my visit, the bar has a really nice atmosphere to it and is a nice place to spend some time. lezford - 15 Dec 2016 11:38 |
