Time for one last drink before flying out of Aberdeen. The Granite City is no longer a Wetherspoons. But it still has 2 real ales - Caledonian Deuchars IPA & Wooha Blonde. I had the Blonde which was fine. But prices are expensive and the place was very quiet on a Sunday evening. Seemingly everybody had headed airside and were packed in the small pub nearer the gates. Probably not as good as it once was when it was a 'spoons. But at least there is still a real ale at the airport.

This airport bar is a good reason to show up early before your flight - actually you don’t have to fly away at all, as the bar is before security. Nice interior. Good selection of beers and ciders, both cask (including frequently changing guest ales), keg and bottles/cans. Standard JDW menu, I had the eggs benedict. Efficient service, but don’t expect a smile here, nor anything even remotely related to a smile. *Upon my second visit, the staff was friendlier and more polite.

Large purpose built Wetherspoon’s at Aberdeen Airport.

Much like other airport pubs this one is just soulless and relies on travelers wanting food or a beer.

Decent ales on tap however, 4 good beers though odd to see that all 4 on were from South of the Border, something I hadn't seen all weekend while in Aberdeen and Dundee.

If you’re at Aberdeen Airport & you need a beer this is the place to go but don’t expect to pay normal Wetherspoon prices…it’s an airport pub after all.
