user reviews of the Hair of the Dog, Minster

The Hair of the Dog is a fantastic micropub on Minster's main street. It's a tiny, single room that was packed on an Easter Monday lunchtime. But the welcome was warm and the ale and cider selection was great. On during my visit were Mobberley 1924, Portobello Delovetot Straw Ale, Tickety Brew Golden Bitter, Westons Rosie's Pig & Family Reserve, Kentish Pip Forager Hedgerow Berry, Dudda's Tun Kentish Spice & Cheery Old Dudda & Kings Wood Tropical Cider. The micropubs in this area of Kent are well worth a visit, including this one.

Popped in for an afternoon pint. Well kept Portobello Market Porter for £3. It's a bit like sitting in someone's living room but that's no bad thing. Lots of local folk who were welcoming, as was the landlord.
This place is a bit of a gem.

Neat and tidy micro well worth a visit, only had time for one but it was on top form.

What! 4 out of ten? Good grief! A superb little micropub in a quiet village. Nice and clea and fresh with a lovely chatty landlady. Three real ales, the two I tried were terrific. No food but a free pickled egg homemade by the landlady if you are nice to her. This place is friendly and deserves to do well. The previous business was a ladies hairdressers hence the name of the pub.
