user reviews of the Pelican, Letchworth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Emma and Simon have now taken over the pub 3 months ago, and things are looking up! We have got some old faces back in and the football is back on th screens! We don't sell cask ales but we still have a good range of lagers, couple of bitters and both Guinness'. Also a selection of wines and Tea and Coffee are available at very rwasonable prices. The Pelican review has not been updated for quite sometime as i have not heard of this site before (thank you Damian). We try to have live music once a month, plus Karaokes and Disco's on a Friday with Dj Danny doing every other Friday. So if you like your 70's,80's and 90's plus charts this is the place to be on Fridays! We have posters in the pub and on windows showing what is on each month, so you can plan ahead and get baby sitters if needs be! We have just had the ouside painted and a smoking area is available outside with heaters, for those winters nights! Pop down and see us. Local people running a local pub.

This is my local pub. A few months back it had a much needed total refit and rebuild. Before this it was an Irish theme pub (dont you just hate them!?) complete with sign posts telling you how far it was to Killarney or the Ring of Kerry. Now its open plan and looks very welcoming. There are pool tables if you feel the need to hustle and an eating area if youre peckish. The large screen is only in use when needed so you wont be confronted by a pub full of replica shirt wearing yobs on match days. On some Saturday nights there is a karaoke for those of us who still think we should be on Pop Idol. Good range of beer and friendly atmosphere all add up to a decent night out.
