user reviews of the Foley Arms, Great Malvern

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

As noted, an historic coaching inn now run by Wetherspoons and greatly benefits from being a 'proper' pub rather than a fabricated creation in converted premises. As always, cheap reasonable beer attracts the customers in a fairly predictable way. We stayed for one night in the hotel upstairs in a room at the back with wide-ranging views over the Vale of Evesham towards the Cotswolds – however only being on the first floor meant that we were just slightly above the bar terrace, so had the joys of 'spoons customers staring back into the window. Only at this chain can you have a reasonably priced breakfast whilst the bloke at the next table starts the day with a couple of lagers! All said, we'd visit again but ask for a second floor room.

One of the more interesting architectural Wetherspoons.

Very decent beer - great condition.

Superb beer garden with exceptional views.

All round successful visit.

19th century coaching inn in the Georgian style with plenty of separate areas/rooms for drinking and eating. Still has some feel of a cosy (if busy) hotel rather than the plain cavernous halls that I have experienced at other Wetherspoons pubs. Good views over the Malvern Hills. I enjoyed Beartown's Black Bear yesterday as well as Purity's Warlord - both cost £2.60. Service was quick and efficient.

A Wetherspoons Hotel, we stayed here 1 night for a college re-union. Large room with a big bay window with a panoramic view over Great Malvern and beyond. Tasty breakfast which was excellent value. Good range of beers on tap, all at discount prices.
