Excellent fake Victorian local with a range of real ale on. But I had the Brains Dark and it was excellent. Large smoking area in the rear.

After several visits to Cardiff I have at last been introduced to a truly excellent pub. Good quality beer (a rarity) promptly served in a superb street corner local. Two very well kept and decent sized rooms cater for all. Large public bar with piped music on the one hand and quiet comfortable lounge on the other. Complete range of Brains beers are very well kept.

A grand ole boozer with a split personality that caters for two very different types of clientle. Estate & sports crowd in the larger public bar, students, post-grads & the pub-quiz crowd in the smaller saloon. All served with well-kept Brains beers. It ain't broke and the owners aren't fixing - long may it continue!

drop in quite a lot, good pint and a good mix of reguarlers. hope it doesn't change and get taken over by the students like the "claude"

Cosy and very friendly traditional two rooms pub on the outskirts of Cardiff. We went there early on a Saturday afternoon (03.02.2007) to watch Liverpool-Everton on the TV screen and to have some pints of well kept ales on cask from the Brains Brewery. The pub was voted the Camra pub in Cardiff in both 05 and 06.
