Workmen in January 2023... Apparently opening up as a Fish restaurant... That could work...

Alas, up for sale, and looking a bit of blot on the landscape... Hope it gets a new owner, but not optimistic... Location, post covid, rising prices... all working against The Dunstable...

I was quite surprised by this pub. We visited on a Wednesday night in January 2019. Pub is split into 3 rooms - Restaurant to the right, then a central bar, with a games room to left. Whilst not overly busy, There was a smattering of locals in and out whilst we we there. The main bar is a little on the rustic side, but do not be put off.. There was a very welcome roaring fire, the landlady was very helpful, and food was excellent, with many home made dishes. Only seemed to be a couple of Greene King beers, however the Yardbird pale ale was just the job.. I would like to think the couple who run this will make a success of The Dunstable Arms..

I ate in the restaurant on Thursday; the food was excellent and the service was superb. This experience was far superior to any that we have had in the town centre pubs. Whist the restaurant was almost empty the other bar had a lively collection of drinkers enjoying themselves. As I was only really there to eat I did not sample any of the fine ales on offer - but the Guinness was spot-on! Highly recommended.
