Simply scary that I was polite enought to pay for the experience. Truly bad food. No ale on mate was the scruffy bar mans explanation ( had a soft drink over the lagers)
Any other pub in town would fail, they're obviously subsidised by the hotel ( same owners) which is always fully booked as there is nothing else for miles- just because you've a captive market, doesn't mean you should accept selling rubbish shame on you.

Had lunch here again recently and was rather disappointed. Beer (London Pride this time) was OK but the food and service were indifferent. The waiter clearly wished he was elsewhere and judging by the meal the chef had already gone. You are better off with a Ginsters from the M and S in the filling station opposite.

This place is a hidden gem. Although it is set within the same location as a Macdonalds and a petrol station, once inside I felt more at home than I have done in most other restaurants.

Greeted by the manager who showed us to our table and took our drinks order and politely introduced us to our waitress. She left us until we were ready to order and didn't make us feel at all rushed.

Food was great for the price you pay, meals cost anywhere between 6 and 15 I would say. A bargain compared to other restaurants in the area.

Can highly recommend this place for a night out with friends or family or just as a quick stop off point on your way down or up the A3.

Premier Inn hotel situated next door which is part of the same company, making it ideal if you did need a place to stop over en-route to a destination.

Part of the Whitbread 'Table Table' chain although to be honest there's no difference between them and any of the Mitchells and Butler lines. The beer (Tetleys Smoothflow) was pretty foul and there was no sign of a decent guest ale. On the plus side the food wasn't bad and the service from our waitress was excellent. The place is really just there to service the Travel Inn next door or to provide sustenance for those passing through as the location (next to the petrol station and in the shadow of the A3 flyover) hardly makes for a evening out.
