One of the better pubs in Holsworthy i think with the best selection of ales too.
Quite liked the layout of the place and this would be the pub that i would pop back to if i were in the area again.

I've had the pleasure of drinking here a few times now while on fishing trips near Holsworthy and every time it's been excellent. They have a range of about ten beers, most of which were locally brewed (I love Devon and Cornish ales) and all of which were kept in a good condition and were poured to a high standard. The bartender (and manager I think) Lee was a great host and my family and friends felt thoroughly welcome the entire time. It is also the first place I've been to that not only sold Absinthe, but served it properly (thanks again to Lee!).

I've only eaten there once but the food was also excellent. It is mostly wholesome, homecooked traditional pub fare such as pies, grills etc but that's exactly what I like in a pub.

Thoroughly deserving of the awards it frequently wins. I'd like to stay there as a guest at the Inn in future. I cannot recommend the Old Market Inn enough.

Popped in for a quick one recently after noticing the North Devon CAMRA POTY sign outside. Nice pub, seriously challenging car park entrance. Friendly staff, good selection of ales - I tried the house beer Best Old Market Bitter - the barmaid did not know who brewed it, the landlord keeps it a secret apparently. My wife's Skinners Figgy's Brew was also in top condition. A pub that seems to appeal to all.

I forgot to mention that this is North Devon CAMRA Pub of the Year 2010. Lots of other awards too. Google oldmarketinn and see for yourself.

I asked the staff at the Texaco filling station about a decent pub in Holsworthy, and they recommended this place. I'm glad I asked!
Four ales on handpump, mostly local. I didn't have time to try them all, but they range from 3.7%abv to 4.5%abv. More importantly perhaps, they're priced from 2-20 to 2-60! The ones I tried were in fine nick, and I learned from the father of the licensee that within the next few weeks there will be a temperature controlled six-cask stillage rack behind the bar to serve six ales by gravity. From what I've been able to glean about the place, the handpumps are unlikely to remain redundant, as I'm sure they will be used to supply additional choices.
The menu looked tempting, so I shall make a special trip to sample it, possibly on a Saturday when the Comedy Club have a gig there.
Brilliant first impression, and I'm confident about my next visit.
