THIS PUB IS NOW CLOSED AND BOARDED UP WITH METAL SHEETS TO STOP THE GOTHIC GHOSTS OF DAMNATION GETTING OUT AND DRINKING IN THE CARTOON. Yeah, seriously, it is no more. But what a place. Like something out of the Young Ones crossed with Hieronymous Bosch. Best juke box I've ever seen in a pub. Codrotten - 14 Nov 2006 17:29 |
My girlfriend took me here on my first visit earlier today. Didn't expect to find a rock pub down some back street in Croydon, but I did. Thought it was a cool pub, though the lager my girlfriend had was shit. edrok666 - 19 Feb 2006 22:19 |
The Harp Rocks never felt in danger the owners are welcoming and the rock music is great too many rock pubs gone good to see it lives in croydon in a few pubs anonymous - 9 Mar 2005 01:00 |
The harp is a poor music venue hidden away in the most dangerous part of croydon (west croydon). They rarely have any good talent playing and the conditions are very cramped with a poor music system. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming but the prices are as usual high. The music selection in the juke box is ok but there is not something for everyone. I would rather travel the opposite direction to the peel for a prime example of what the harp could be. Jay Z - 9 Jul 2004 18:41 |
I heard about this Pub from a mate of mine who told me that thay do Jam nights on Sunday and I should check it out so I did, the house band kick ass with some heavy classic and modern rock/metal music. and I got to play a bit of my old blues rock stuff. if you play and you like heavy get down there cause it RAWKS.
