please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A group of us stayed here for two nights before Easter on a walking trip. New owners took over early this year , but myndman's positive comments still stand and more. The rooms are comfortable and nicely done. Breakfast was excellent - nothing seemed to be too much trouble (the porridge got rave reviews) The food menu has plenty of choice and the home-made pies are particularly good. Helpings are generous and plenty of fresh veg is available. As for beer, they had Best and Old Henry from Hobsons and one from each of the Bishops Castle microbreweries - XXX from the Three Tuns and Supper from the Six Bells. All were tried during our stay and all were in excellent condition. With regards to pricing, rooms , food and drink were all extremely good value. The pub is clearly a real hub of the community, has a great atmosphere and is situated on a hill with marvellous views of the Long Mynd (made more picturesque by the pre-Easter snow when we were there).

The owners and staff are friendly , helpful and flexible - this is a real local that is a great place to stay, eat or just have a drink. We would definitely return to do all three. It gets a very high rating on the basis of our stay.

This is a very good village pub serving very well kept beers (mainly local)and good quality home made food.Nice to see seasonal local dishes such as pheasant.A very good place to end up after a nice walk in the nearby hills or a cycle ride.Much to recommend it,not least the friendly and efficient service.
