Yep, it's been a Co-Op local store for a while.

When will this endless stream of pub closures finish?

Yes, you are right. We are told it will be turned into a co-op store, work has already started stripping out the insides.

Not been in the heron for a very long time, so i went in because i heard new people had taken over and i was in the area, I was very surprised when i walked in to how friendly the landlord and landlady were to me, they couldn't of been any nicer. i would recomend everyone go in and meet terry and claire.
I asked about the rooms and they were happy to show me around and i can honestly say that they were very clean and i will be staying there on my next trip back to aldershot.

I stayed 1 night here on bed and breakfast basis. The landlord (if I am allowed to call him that was more concerned about getting his money (35-00) than showing me to my room. Although the bed was alright the lock on the door was not as the door had been forced at some time. I understood that breakfast would be in the room at the end of the corridor, but all I found was a dirty kitchenette with nothing for my breakfast, not even milk for coffee or tea. The one mug I found was not only dirty but chipped. So in the end I went without breakfast or a refund for the breakfast part of the B&B, because I could find no one to ask for it. I am likely to be wanting B&B in this area fairly often in the future but will be giving this place a very very wide berth. Also the language in the bar left alot to be desired. and that from both the land lord and those persons proping up the bar. My rating for this so called hotel is minus 10. Uptight
