I visited with family, including 3 children (0-2 years old). We had a terrible experience. The landlord and landlady made us feel very unwelcome and were extremely aggressive and rude to all members of my family, including children and a young person with Down's and severe learning difficulties. The food was terrible. The nut roast was a slop of tomato sauce with nuts thrown in. The roast dinners were slices of sandwich meat. For the cost of about £10 for a main course, every main course dish was sub standard and mediocre. The only professional member of staff was the younger man who took our payment, as the landlord and landlady wouldn't take it themselves. I believe he is a new member of staff.

Just got back from the Red Lion at Stiffords Bridge near Cradley Malvern, I very rarely do reviews anywhere online unless I was let down by bad service OR I was really impressed with great food and quality service, well tonight under the new owners it was fantastic.

I first went to the Red lion a few years ago and it was was average, so like most people do anywhere else you don't bother. Well my other half said lets try the Red Lion, its got new owners, they are all settled in and her friends said it was very good when they went.

So Saturday evening, raining, we were hungry, arrived 7pm, walked in, Big warm fire burning away, Max the dog was curled up, and friendly bar staff helped us choose some great cider, showed us to a free table, took us through all the new menu, sounded great so we ordered one home made Ale Pie + one of their famous Red Lion Burgers (Hereford Beef) with bacon, Hereford Hop Cheese , home made chips and extras all around it.

It arrived, we took a smell , first bite, BIg Smiles, WOW WOW WOW, the ingredients were fresh, had texture, flavour, the Hop Cheese and bacon were 1st class and simply awesome. The beef was lush, 100% meat.
The Ale pie was packed, tasty, gravy was excellent, the homemade chips used great potatoes and all freshly made, the salad and garnish were fresh and and special Their Chef, this couple and their team (the lads) really care about what they create, they make you feel welcome, the atmosphere is like proper pubs used to be, and so few can create that anymore.

So give them a chance, (ignore the previous reviews from 2010-2012, these NEW owners are great) take a night off, let them cook for you, enjoy being warm and cozy, in a safe friendly British pub, great ale, very good Cider, and you can talk with your friends, no noisy music, easy parking right outside, a perfect night out on your doorstep.

We will go there again, very very soon, (by the way we are not connected with the pub or the owners we are just locals who appreciate a great local pub that needs you to support it).

Thank you

Now run by Andy from the Chase and his staff. Very good beer.

Awful sunday lunch. December 2012. Long wait for ridiculous small portion. White roast potatoes, shrivelled carrots, 2 sprouts and some oily mess. Veg shepherds pie main ingredient seemed to be salt, followed by smash, 2 carrots, 1/2 sprout. Everyone was moaning. You may have just reopened but your food is appalling. No apologies, a wait of over an hour for rubbish. Avoid. We came home and cooked a meal it was that bad

Was up for sale at auction a couple of months ago and looks closed as we drove past with Heras fencing outside and a skip in the car park. Perhaps being refurbished?
