| Saturday evening visit (April 2012). Arrived 17:30 to a cosy pub with a good mix of drinkers and early eaters. Choice of beer and I tried the bitters from Black Sheep and Bombadier. Black Sheep I find to be very variable and in this case was only average. The Bombadier is a very different taste and was quite acceptable. A reasonable menu for pub grub - nothing fancy and good portions. Choice of freshly cooked veg and well presented chips. I had the traditional fish + chips and, apart from the watery mushy peas, was most acceptable. Price still sub �10 (Spring 2012) for the standard offerings of pie, gammon or chicken etc. So, well worth calling in if you are passing by! Afterwalking - 28 Apr 2012 19:21 |
