An 'Irish' chain pub which isn't actually very Irish at all.

The beer was good... but sorry to say the food was a disgrace... there were only two small pieces of tough gristle, a few mushroom segments and gravy in the Steak and Guiness pie, The peas were still frozen, and the Calcanon was like wallpaper paste... the steak (according to my Autistic son) was that tough it must have been on steroids before it died... but my Wife says hers was all fat with very little meat... and again it was tough...
the worst part was my youngest sons Fish and Chips...the Chips were like solidified cardboard, and the fish had a strange smell on it... needless to say we did not bother eating it... and walked out.

Nothing extraordinary about this pub. I am drinking there a fair bit at the moment as it is the only pub in York serving Guiness Red.

Did Irish people really keep biscuit tins in cupboards and hang rusty old farm implements on the walls ? Odd.

I think it's ok personally! Wouldn't go in of a friday or saturday because its far too busy, but most other nights you'll get a decent pint in ok surroundings
