The Libertine is roughly halfway between London Bride and Elephant and Castle stations. It was fairly quiet on my Saturday afternoon visit, with a couple of blokes playing darts and a few watching football scores on a TV. Sharp's Doom Bar is the regular ale. Guests were Redemption Hotspur & Watney's Starlight. There was no real cider and nobody was eating. Wifi worked well. Ok, but I wouldn't make a special journey here and it's a bit off the beaten track to make it part of a crawl. blue_scrumpy - 22 Sep 2019 13:07 |
Pizzas in pubs! Fucking stinks. Vile khazi. nickthefish - 9 Dec 2013 20:57 |
Have been here twice, both times early on Friday evening; the first time it was moderately busy - could get a table but most filled, so good buzz without being a hassle. The second time it was totally rammed, at the same time. Not sure which is more representative! Beers were fine but on the second time the service was struggling to keep up. Didn't try the food but I like the idea of pizzas in pubs, will be back to try it. tonyandrachel - 15 Jan 2011 14:38 |
This lunchtime was my second at this pub. A party of 6, we all had pizzas and the cooking time was quite fast. A nice table in the sunny side of the pub which is essentially one big room. The opposite side of the pub had classic leather sofas around a gas fire that was in use 6 months previously. Shame it's Summer or I would have sat there! Since it's a work day, none of us were imbibing anything remotely alcoholic so can't rate it in that respect, but I did have a nice Fentiman's Lemondade so good range of soft drinks. I think we'll all go back so thumbs up. orientalhero - 27 May 2010 14:10 |
was in here Saturday night as my bro's band were playing, seemed like a desent sort of place, three ales on Dauchers Doombar and Spitfire the Spitfire and Doombar were both in good nic and the service was quick even though it was busy, with so many good pubs in the area they need to set a good standard and they seem to be making a good go of it vinnnie - 29 Mar 2010 12:21 |
