Called to watch the rugby. At half time ordered a pint of Wye Valley HPA - a particular favourite after visiting the brewery. Beer took time to serve, more time to clear -which it never did and tasted like dish water.
I explained to the person behind the bar that it was not satisfactory to which he replied "I recognised you as a troublemaker - On yer bike and F*** OFF!"
As a 68 year old cyclist I was un-nerved and upset by the accusation and aggression.
I left after confirming that I could quote the above.
I was wearing a CAMRA t shirt - perhaps he had been bitten by one once? Who knows.

Best pub near the Telford mall, and just far enough away to still have a village atmosphere. Always good beer, and coming from the South East I don't think the food is pricey, and it is home cooked rather than run through a microwave, so excellent all round.

Re-visited for an evening meal after heard it had changed hands. 4 real ales on including Black Sheep on fine form. Chose from a limited, little over-priced menu, the steak was OK the Chicken well presented, blue cheese sauce over priced at 1.50. Homemade chips, decent veg except for TINNED PEAS! What!?
As before, a decent enough experience (except for TINNED PEAS) but nothing exceptional - again I won't be rushing back!

I love this pub! It is one of my all time favourites. So cosy and beautifully kept. When I retire i want to live next door! Olde Worlde, brass, warm and cosy and clean! perfection.

Cracking pub which is friendly, has decent regualrs, a well kept house and serves really good ale, all of which can be somewhat of a rarity in Telford (outside of Ironbridge).

Anyone visiting Telford for events / work should seriously consider using this as their base during their stay - there is a guest house nextdoor, it is out of the way and is near enough to the train station & motorway to be classed as convenient. Agree with Xopher's sentiments regarding visiting as a drinker; if you find yourself a cosy corner, you are set for as long as you want to be set for.
