Good value pub with my pint of 5% Ossett Voodoo being the most expensive handpull on sale at £3.75 a pint. The main room is too open-plan for me but at least the stained glass screens between the tables give some privacy. paul_d102 - 11 Apr 2022 08:59 |
Sometimes it is little things that distinguish a place as being a decent alehouse. Apart from the fact the beer was good here the lady behind the bar serving me said the brew I chose was a bit lively and needed to settle and fair enough she served the next customer as it settled - once it was ready the guy I assumed to be the landlord stepped in and topped up and served me the pint as the lady was still serving. An indication that they actually value the customers as well as the beer. Snarling_Mallard - 19 Mar 2018 21:54 |
An afternoon visit to this Ossett Brewery run & managed pub just off the Market Place. According to the Camra GBG this pub is done up in typical Ossett Brewery style which means it has exposed brickwork and original features like the fireplace, the walls have a mix of brewery mirrors & old photos of Knaresborough on them. It’s a double roomed pub with the main bar having a L shaped bar on your right as you enter from Cheapside. 7 different ales on the 8 hand pumps, 5 of them from the Ossett Brewery and the other 3 being guests, I opted for a pint of Silver King @ 4.3% while the misses had a bottle of Strawberry framboise. A nice pub with a local community feel to it. lezford - 4 Jul 2016 09:48 |
Smashing little pub with good selection of beers, even though many come from the same brewery. Beer was well kept and in good condition, landlord was welcoming and provided samples of the beers. Nice and quiet on a Sunday night so can not comment on the rest of the week. maybe - 26 Oct 2014 21:59 |
no, not closed its re-opened, nice inside, good selection of ale from this now osset house, barmaid was a bit rude and lacking a tooth. probably more of a locals pub , than a pub for a visiting southerner. worth a visit . tc_imbiber - 25 Apr 2012 19:08 |
