Not been here for years but called in Saturday for a pint whilst out walking from Rayleigh to Billericay. It will be years before we visit again, Abbott poorly kept, tasted like it had been in the barrel since we last called in. To be fair it looked like the locals were lager drinkers and they seemed happy enough with their umpteen choices and surroundings

Pub recently refurbished and under new owners. A lot better and fresher food was really nice well cooked and presented. Bar staff really good and service was good. Hopefully things will be on the up under the new owners.

Wretched place serving vile beer. Walked out roughly 4 minutes after entering

went to this pub just before Christmas on good recommendation (supported by the previous comments on here). Sadly however it did not meet expectations. The pub was looking shabby (along with some of the clientele), and the beer variety was poor. We had sarnies and chips for lunch which were good however

Have had some of the best times at the Beer Festival. Good family fun, but mixed with a young crowd. Everyone happy and a fantastic atmosphere, well worth a visit.
