This was one of the best pubs back in 1986/7 when i worked up the road from it. My recent visit to the street found it closed. I hope it will open its doors again and soon

I went to visit the pub but found it closed, anyone know when it will open? I spent a lot of time in this pub back in the early 1970's when working around the corner at Thomas Cook, actually met my first wife when she was working there! Not a bad place but many changes since then, not all good.

Apparently this pub has been bought by Sir Alan Sugar who will be changing its use. "Apparently" mind...

Appears to be closed now with the inside partially stripped (no furniture), with no sign of whether it is being refurbished or just becoming an ex-pub.

Think the review that mentions that it's an unexceptional pub sums it up perfectly. Popped in a wander of pubs but wouldn't be returning to again.
