This pub is owned by ember inns and has been renovated to a high standard, I feel it's looking for the Wetherspoon, sizzler type of characters to visit. It has a good range of real ales with 6 being on at the bar.

Aptly named, adjoining its own huge sportsfield, scenic views, a good place to stop for lunch during a walk as the food is excellent and relatively inexpensive when compared with the normal Peak District rip offs. Comfortable inside with a relaxed atmosphere. Popular with mature diners who drive up here from the city below. Only downside was the poor choice of expensive ale. Timothy Taylor Landlord was the best of the bunch at 3.30. Tetleys at 2.90 tasted sour in comparison. Also John Smith's Smooth bitter and John Smiths Magnet ale which I won't drink.

Excellent proper English grub, at an amazing price! My Friend had a jumbo cod for under a fiver and it really was jumbo (hanging off the side of the plate!). Ale never changes off Tetleys and Landlord, which is the downside, but does come in pint pots (of the smooth undappled sort, more like the German things). Great pub to visit on a summers afternoon on the bus out of Sheffield, to sit on the benches aside the moor, with views of the valley, with your afternoon lunch and a pint. Bored in Sheffield on a sunny afternoon? catch the 51 to Lodge Moor, walk up the road to here and enjoy a decently priced pub with a pleasant atmosphere.

Stone-built semi-rural pub on the very western edge of suburban Sheffield, in some fine walking country. It's 1 basic L-shaped room with traditional furnishings and a cosy, if unremarkable, interior. Popular with diners, the only real ales available are Tetleys and Landlord, although Landlord was very well kept. Food represented very good value and served with a smile. Not a destination pub but a worthy place that I wouldn't mind visiting again.
