please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Angel was our final pub of the night in Norfolk and was a worthy last calling point. The pub has a main bar and a small games room with a pool table. I gather there was a separate dining room too. The bar area is quite dark (or at least it is at night). But it is an ideal place for conversation. The 3 ales were Hopback Summer Lightning, Woodfordes Wherry & Nethergate Augustinian. In addition, there was Broadoak Perry, fetched from the cellar. The landlord was very friendly. Another decent pub. There is a bowling green adjacent.

What a superb boozer. Peter's (friendly landlord) beer festivals are proving to be very popular with the great selection of ales he has on. The pub gets packed with enthusiastic ale drinkers, who evidently have a whale of a time in this nice, homely old village pub near Dereham.

As rg27 mentioned, there's music on at the weekends of the beer festivals. I also saw Polaris and enjoyed them immensely with their sixties music and rock and roll. They seemed to be enjoying themselves too, which is always a good sign.

Anyway, I can thoroughly recommend The Angel - check it out sometime. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is a charming hostelry set in the heart of Norfolk, about three miles from Dereham. Peter and Avril ensure a friendly welcome to all visitors.
There are beer festivals held at The Angel on a twice yearly basis: Easter and November, when a wide range of beers and ciders are available.
I've seen some good bands at The Angel too, including Polaris and The Rockin' Johnnies.
Check it out!
