| A victim of the smoking ban. The Black Horse was a traditional boozer in a relatvely modern building. I remember not long after the smoking ban was announced and before it came in to force, the landlady commenting that she smoked and virtually all of her customers did and she thought they would be in trouble when smoking in pubs was banned. She was right. Despite a nice smoking shelter erected by Enterprise which did little more than keep the rain off the smokers, trade sank and never came back. They're all at home, still smoking just like before but now with booze from Tescos or Lidl. malingerer - 7 Aug 2014 17:50 |
