Friendly pub with good beer. Don't know about the gay bar mentioned earlier, certainly no evidence of it that I noticed but does it really matter?

Three handpulls, 2 of which were from the Three Tuns brewery in neighbouring Shropshire. The tiling, dado rails, horse brasses and cheap chairs all give the impression that not much has happened here since the 80s and, being almost devoid of female patrons last Friday night, it wasn't a place where my wife wanted us to linger long.

Visited on Friday by chance, before having read any reviews. If it was gay, I didn't notice but then I don't have much of a Gaydar. Pretty good local cider and good choice of baps. Wonderful roaring log fire with comfy sofas. Friendly welcome and good service. Decent pub

Does Unlucky Kentucky actually know Hereford at all? There certainly ARE a lot of gay folk in and around Hereford!!

This is a nice little pub, the landlords are pleasant but the female bar staff can get a bit sniffy about bad language which spoils the night out experience somewhat as you are always watching your p's and q's as opposed to just enjoying yourself!

It's been a while since I was last in Hereford so I can't really say much more about this place until I have made a more recent visit except to say that it's not as bad as the other comments would have you believe!

One of Hereford's more disappointing pubs, which could be so much better (although in the past it has been worse!). Real ales are of variable quality and availability - most customers prefer lager, which should give you a good idea of what to expect.
