Perhaps I visited at the wrong time but for a pub in the CAMRA GBG this was a massive disappointment. Only 2 hand pumps neither of which were working.
As it was a baking hot day and I was gasping for a drink I stayed to have a bottled beer.
The place seemed friendly enough with a community atmosphere.
TVs were showing sport and I could imagine the place getting well packed out on big sporting occasions.

Great little pub tucked away on a side street in the East End. Service was fast and welcoming and I had a lovely pint of Adnams Fat Sprat. Prices were reasonable - and the icing on the cake is that there was a truly beautiful barmaid in attendance (not sure I like that term - but don't know what the modern equivalent is).

Nice little single bar corner pub, not too far from Brick Lane. The atmosphere is quite pleasant with no TV, bare boarded floors and plenty of conversation. It seems to attract quite a large cross-share of the local community. Trumans Runner, Timothy Taylor Landlord & Adnams Ghost Ship were the 3 ales on. But as stated previously, there are plenty of bottled ales and ciders. Aspalls is also available on tap.

I second the comment about the Adnams Oyster Stout -- top notch! Generally a pleasant ambience, with candles and a nice velvet curtain at the door, though some of the bar staff were a little surly. A long list of bottled beers, both foreign and British, but nothing very unusual. That said, I had a very pleasant few hours there, and if I find myself in the area again I'd happily go back.

Quite busy on saturday lunchtime and very much open. A pub with a good buzz about it,situated on a back street between Brick Lane and Vallance road, its well worth seeking out. The Adnams Oyster Stout was excellent. A must vist pub when in the Bethnal Green area.
