Strange pub, looks nothing on the outside but is very 'olde worlde' on the inside. by the decor I would say this is an ex-Whitbread house. Tried ti try the Doom Bar but the barmaid was unable to dispence the beer due to a problem with the hand pump......settled for a Budweiser! Only problem with the place was the barmaids young children were running around. Other than that give it a try...............hope you get your beer poured.

A large village pub with a lot of space devoted to food but a good sized space for drinkers, with a TV screen and pool table.

There is both a bar menu and a restaurant menu be careful where you choose to sit. The food we had was cooked well and good value.

There were two ales on during our visit: London Pride and (a very tasty) Double Drop from Flack Manor brewery.

According to the news clipping posted on the wall by the entrance, the man with the sandwich board on the A303 is the landlord. He spends two hours there each lunchtime to advertise his pub as the local council wont let him put up any form of permanent sign. Given the weather conditions he was standing in when we went past, we felt the pub deserved our custom but we would happily recommend it to others.

A man walks up and down the A303 with a board advertising this place which seems extreme as it's a busy dual carriageway! However, it's worth a visit as a stop off and food was good and reasonably priced and beer also good.

Interesting pub, beer good (but Hampshire prices!!), food was straight from the deep freeze.
Large area so the big TV was fortunately out of hearing (almost). Used by the locals, but not too much in the way of alternatives.
Would use again though.
