user reviews of the Caradon Inn, Upton Cross

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

My wife and I visited the Caradon as its the closest pub to us, we must have caught them on an off day - after ordering food and waiting an hour we asked where it had got to only to find they had forgotten us! Then we waited for another half an hour for our Sunday roast and it was mostly inedible - the meat wasn't properly cooked and it was even only luke warm. We left most of it and went and got food at the Cheesewring - a proper pub who know what customer service and good food is about.

Visited the Caradon Inn for Sunday dinner with my family. Food was excellent and the service was very friendly and efficient. The pub was very busy but we were still served promptly. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxed. We will be visiting again.

This pub is in a great location, but the interior has been spoilt by the modern furniture. Sharps Own and Doom Bar were the two real ales available. The pub is opposite an open air theatre.

Under new owners.
They have done a good job inside the pub, with a few settees and comfortable chairs around the pub.
The beer choice was ok, but not outstanding. I was driving so none for me.
Food was ok-ish. We had Sunday lunch there and the meat was a little tough and the rest was a little lacklustre.
Early days I guess.
