user reviews of the Mill House Inn, Trebarwith

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Despite the website suggesting that there was an evening bar menu, this was not the case as there was just a restaurant menu available this evening. We walked straight back out again after reading that the cheapest main dish was about 16. Noticed Doom Bar, Sharp's Cornish Coaster and Tintagel's 2012 were the ales on offer.

IF I WERE GEORGE ORWELL THIS WOULD BE MY 'MOON UNDER THE WATER'. VISITED ON THE 1ST APRIL AT THE TAIL END OF A TOURING TRIP TO CORNWALL. WARM WELCOME AND A LANDLORDS RECOMMENDATION FOR THE TINTAGEL CORNISH PRIDE. LOVELY PINT. UNFORTUNATELY COULD ONLY HAVE TWO AS I WAS DRIVING. ENJOYED A SUPER MEAL WITH MY WIFE. FRIENDLY SERVICE, GREAT QUALITY AND VALUE. PUT MANY OF THE HOSTELRIES WE HAVE VISITED TO SHAME. I'VE LIVED IN PUBS ALL MY LIFE AND BEEN A FREE TRADE LICENSEE FOR THIRTY YEARS AND IT'S NOT ALL THAT OFTEN THAT I STRONGLY ADVISE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO VISIT A PLACE BUT I HAVE NO RESERVATIONS IN THE CASE OF THE MILL HOUSE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. YOU'RE A CREDIT TO THE COUNTY.

Secluded pub- based on an old water mill, best known now for its adjacent top quality restaurant. Pub staff were very friendly, open plan with pool table at rear, gave the impression you were in a cross between a YHA common room, a cabin and a boat club. Not a traditional pub in that sense even tho its an old building as such.

Beer was fine, food below par, took ages to arrive, but the staff made it bearable. Probably good walking options from here and near to the beach.
