| The Horse & Jockey was the first of two pubs I tried in Birstall on Friday. It feels reasonably large and had a decent crowd on my evening visit. The TV was showing live Championship football. Ales were Bradfield Farmer's Blonde, Jennings Cumberland Ale, John Smith's Cask, Sharps Doom Bar, Ossett Silver King & Roosters This Is England. They also had a real cider - Rosie's Pig. | only ever 2 real ales on at this pub, one is john smiths cask, which is permanent, the other is a guest ale. both beers are always served in excellent condition, at this very busy, birstall village centre pub, and thats what makes this pub well worth a visit if you are ever in the area. birstallblue - 15 Oct 2008 20:50 |
