Saved the day after our experiences at the Dog and Gun. More geared to dining than drinking. Food was good value and OK quality wise. 3 beers on and Hartley Cumbrian Way in good nick. Keswick Pub Crawl and photos blogged at http://bit.ly/2ebKnG3 Mappiman - 11 Oct 2016 13:42 |
Robinsons pub at the top of the High St a stones throw from the Dog & Gun. 4 pumps offering 3 Robinsons ales and a local Cumbrian ale. I went for the house beer which was Lake Road Inn Bitter @ 4.5% and brewed by Robinsons. Small inside with a neutral & modern decor, there is a very pleasant courtyard garden to the rear, this is also where the Lake Road Inn barn is, tables in here I guess for sheltering from the rain. The outside men's toilets were clean and well looked after. Pretty quiet at 4.15 on a Sunday afternoon with a few people inside watching the tennis. The Lake Road Inn is a decent enough food led pub with a nice selection of ales, not much more to say than that. lezford - 6 Aug 2015 10:06 |
Indifferent beer and truly vile food. manstein - 9 Oct 2014 10:04 |
Wedge shaped pub, four pumps serving Robinson's beers. I can't recall what I kicked off with but it wasn't good. My second pint, Dizzy's Dark Side wasn't too bad. The decision to eat here was a mistake - I had cod and chips - the fish was well past it's best and the chips, well, I'm still not sure how they were made, having a consistency I've never experienced before. Couple this with offhand service and your reasons for coming here reduce to zero. I suggest you avoid this place and go to the excellent Dog & Gun just next door. holbornboy - 22 Sep 2013 23:05 |
Must have a hard time competing with next door, but does a reasonable job of it. Good ale from Robinsons, friendly barstaff and some interesting old breweriana on the walls. Gristy - 25 Jun 2012 23:56 |
