The Bay Horse was certainly one of the best pubs in this town. It's right at the top end and was popular with people and dogs on my Saturday evening visit. It also has one of the better ale ranges in town - Noss Beer Works Church Ledge, New Lion Pandit IPA, Mane Event & Totnes Stout. It serves as the brewery tap for the New Lion brewery. There are also a couple of ciders - Ashridge Devon Bloom & Sandford Orchards Vintage. My Devon Bloom (Elderflower) was enjoyable. There are 3 rooms, which are all quite basic. But they an array of different seating. There is accommodation available here too.

I visit regularly with a good atmosphere, large back garden area, typically a choice of 3+ ales, various ciders, folk music regularly, log fire, no played music, this is a proper pub, and very popular with young and old. No TV, snacks mostly.

Recommended if you are visiting totnes, if you want sport - its on at the Bull nearby

A disappointing visit after some very good times here in the past.
The real cider has disappeared: there was only keg 'cider' or a blackberry flovoured confection.
Fortunately I found that real cider is still on at the Albert Inn, down the High St and just over the bridge.

Get some of the IPA down your neck, the best pint that I have had in yonks! Spot on, full of very hoppy flavour. Friendly well lived in sort of a place which is a good sign. If you are after a good pint in Totnes, this or The Albert is the place to go. Thirst suitably quenched!

15th century coaching inn. 4 well kept local ales including Otter and Dartmoor Breweries.

a number of beer festivals during the year. Bar food available. Pleasant garden at the rear.

Nice atmosphere. Good friendly service.
