Quite why so many people were driving down the narrow country lanes to arrive here was a little beyond me - 10 cars must have turned up in the 30 minutes that we were there (although admittedly 6 of those were together). Outside tables are on the other side of the lane, the inside of the pub didn't look overly exciting. Sharp's Sea Fury, Firebrand Patchwork Rocket, Tintagel Cornwall's Pride and Skinner's Lushingtons Sunshine IPA were the 4 ales.

Hard to find - the sat nav tried to take us down a footpath. So we looked at the map and switched on our brains to figure out where it was. When we arrived, I still wasn't sure since it seemed an unlikely location and the place looked like some old Spanish farm buildings. Anyway, we had a nice lunch here. Beer not so good - a little insipid. Pleasant service and surroundings.

brilliant pub. friendly locals, fantastic local beers (love the penpont brewery), and a nice buzz of an atmosphere in the evenings.

being located in the middle of nowhere adds to the charm of this place.

Friendly pub with excellent ale from the local Penpont Brewery. Two of these were on, but when we ordered the barrel on one of them just went off. Being off season at the time, and a week day, the landlord couldn't put another one on. That's a good decision if you're dedicated to quality!
So we had two pints of the other, but as we were interested in the beers, we got the half pint of the first beer for free, to get an idea what Penpont makes.
Very good pub, good beer, sensible and friendly landlord dedicated to quality. Excellent.

Great food, fantastic real pub atmosphere, excellent wines and a good range of bitters - the Penpont Brewery (local, apparently) beers were the pick of the bunch, with one on draught and a range in bottles. This place is well worth visiting.
