user reviews of Memphis Belle, Westbrook

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

We have visited now 3 times and not been disappointed with the beer. Usually Youngs Bitter, Speckled Hen and (I think) Spitfire. We have not eaten but the carvery is appealing and other served food looks fresh and appetising. Service can be a little slow, especially when there is a function in the back room, but is friendly and pleasant. The entertainment on the 2nd and last Saturdays each month has been a bit hit and miss. One absolutely excellent singer and one awful one to date. Next time we will eat here as well.

Part of Warrington's 'Brave New World'. Large modern dining hall / bar / social centre-in-one to serve the dynamic new retail / light industrial / housing sector in North-West Warrington. Three handpumps, which given the area and clientelle would always be over optimistic, only one of which was being used and that for Youngs Bitter chilled as if it were a lager.

Really good pub, beautiful modern decor. Much classier than your average pub. Absolutley huge inside. The carvery is the best ive ever had, the mashed potatoes are devine. I go quite often and it does tend to be busy, especially sunday afternoon! So expect a bit of a wait for a table. Theres a nice area to sit and have a drink while you wait though and our waiting time has never been more than 15 mins even though sometimes weve been quoted 45 mins! a bit off putting! The prices are slightly above average but well worth paying because its such good service and a nice environment.
The staff are friendly and helpful but the main menu is a bit limited, i think probably due to the fact they have the carvery on ALL the time.

Went one Sunday afternoon to eat. It was really busy so the pub part tables were overflowing with glasses and plates. It didn't feel welcoming. It's a pity these places don't think clearing up is very important. The food was fine. The restaurant part was cleared up ok and the staff were polite.

Better than it's rating suggests. I dont hold out much hope when entering retail park pubs so this was a pleasant surprise. It's primarily an eating place, but the food was freshly prepared and varied, including an all-you-can eat carvery. Decor was modern but pleasant inside and the usual 'plastic' ambience of pubs in these types of locations was absent. 3 real ales too- including ones that are scarce in these parts, such as Young's bitter. All in all a pleasant experience.
