Nice looking pub with two ales on when I visited last night. Had the Will's Neck which was lovely. Dogs welcome.

We were visiting this area and were told to put this pub on our list and I can see why.....fantastic food...check out the homemade burger!
2 fantastic local ales, Spypost and Whiteball from the Masters Brewery of Wellington a town close to Halse, both beers in superb condition and I had to sample severalof each just to make sure.....well done New Inn we will be back!!

Pleasant village pub cum restaurant in a pleasant village.

Log fires in winter an d sunny garden in the summer make a pleasant setting to try the 2 real ales always available; yesterday (Sunday) they had Quantock Ale and Quantock Sundowner, both were pleasant .

Overall, pleasant .

Ate and drank with a group of friends at the weekend after a long absence. Good local (Quantock) brewery ale on tap as well as Thatchers dry cider. Enjoyed by all, but I would really like to see Exmoor or Cotleigh represented. Food was very good - my steak was succulent and well cooked to order. Three of my friends had the monkfish and all agreed that it was excellent too. Desserts hit the spot.
The service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and conducive to a lovely evening. I shall return with family.
Please try this pub.

What a Gem!

After talking to the new manager of the New Inn last Saturday Night I am happy to say this pub is back on my list!

My wife and I have eaten at the establishment a few times now and every time we have been pleasently surprised! The food is fantastic and service top notch, the inn caters for people looking for a quick meal in the bar aswell as people looking for a romantic supper in their very intimate restaurant!

Leo, the Australian manager (who drove to drive us home so we could avoid paying the large taxi cost, let us leave our car overnight) tells us that anything they can source locally they do, and all desserts are made by one of their cooks.

All in all, try them out... and ignore the bad press below, this pubs coming back in a big way. Watch out other taunton pubs, theres a new contender in town!
