user reviews of the Swan Inn, Denham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This was pub number 2 on our visit to Denham, and like the Green Man, it has a large patio at the back that will be lovely in the summer.

Choice was Courage - best I think, Wadworth 6x, and Marlow Rebellion IPA. The other pump was empty.

Paid 3 for 2 halves of Rebellion. Food was finished here too. There were lots of wine bottles behind the bar and I felt it was more of a restaurant than a pub, but having said that, the beer was fine.

What should have been a lovely meal ruined by the attitude and surliness of the manager, Mark.

The Swan Inn is a nice looking pub in a pretty village. Necessary to book in advance for sunday lunch.

We arrived and were greeted by the manager with 'What's your name?' I must have looked a bit surprised as he then asked 'Are you lunching with us? What's your name?' He then pointed to our table.

The meal itself was very good. The rest of the staff were very polite and attentive, clearing plates promptly and topping up drinks but Mark really ruined the experience for me. He certainly isn't a 'great guy' as quoted on their website and could do with a few lessons in basic manners and customer service.

would book before you turn up, its always busy here and they don't offer any alternative or suggest they could squeeze you in.

More a restaurant (albeit an excellent one) inside rather than a pub but has a healthy selection of well kept ales and a large and attractive garden if you're just stopping for a drink.

I nipped in for a quick drink and tried a Real Ale from the excellent Rebellion Brewery. I am pleased to say it tasted great! A pretty pub in a very pretty village.
