Average small town pub. But they were serving 'Old Rosie' Cider....RESULT!!! To top it off you could add a 'Vimto' top, even better. RMaybe not much to look at but the barmaid was friendly enough!!! I will return.

Average pub really.
We had a couple of pints after a walk in the area.
Ilminster is a nice little town though.

A detached stone build, in two buildings, with columned entrance and beer patio.

The interior is open plan and simply one long room, with a pool table at one end. The pub did food, but my girls had a bowl of chips thats all, not something that can judged! The decor had reddish panel and white walls, wood floor accept for the dinig area and there were some nice local pictures on the walls, with other memorabilia. A friendly place we found and a mixed clientele.

Beer; usual tap tosh, with Wadsworth 6X and Henry IPA, which i liked.

I would go back here, the best of the three pubs i tried in Ilminster

skanky facilities, odd decor, fake old plastic flowers on the tables, miserable staff, big smelly dog in doorway....

Average sort of country town pub - not a lot going for it. I've just (Tuesday lunchtime) been in for a pint of 6X which was very well kept. Barman had the longest, most miserable looking face I'd seen in a long time but turned out to be amiable enough. Very sombre ambience - a couple of teenage chav families with babies at one end of the bar, a 'regular' at the bar and a couple eating at the other end. Didn't try the food but appeared to be typical pub fare. Oh, and another thing, there was a very strange smell in the place.

All in all, I should have tried the George 'round the corner - it was heaving as I walked by and looked very lively indeed.
