Not a gastropub as the last reviewer stated (scampi/gammon and chips on the menu) but still a popular place for people to eat whilst looking over the canals. No parking at the pub itself but 50 metres away is the Canal & River Trust's car park which is the pay-and-display car park for the whole 34 acre site including the two pubs, two cafés, a museum and the chance to hire a day boat. Adnams Southwold Bitter and (good) Timothy Taylor's Landlord were the 2 handpulls when we visited on Monday.

Popped in for a drink, but it's a gastro-pub and non-diners are not that welcome. Lovely location, the food might be ok, but their attitude really put me off.

This pub is situated next to the Foxton Locks, a superb location on a nice sunny day, with tables set out by the waterside, drinkers can watch the barges go by in a very peaceful setting.
I called in, but in a rare event, did not partake in a drink on this occasion.
All the tables were already full, inside and out, with families eating.
Whilst full is usually good, this had a slightly stuffy, claustrophobic feel, and felt more like a food led business than a pub.
Some will like this pub, some will love it, but it seems a place to take the family for a meal rather than meet the mates for a drink.

Called in today on the way back from Derbyshire, after all the flight of locks at Foxton are famous. Having had to pay TWO QUID in the pay and display car park we walked into the main "pub" only to be hijacked by a waitress showing us to a table. Upon asking about sandwiches and baguettes we were dismissed to the outer building. This one had run out of its only real ale ( don't know what it was - the clip had been turned around ) but the barman offered to go over to the other place to get one ( Yeah - I bet !! ) Over the bridge was the other pub, Bridge 61. As previous reviewers have said, this is a bit "shoppy", but it looked friendlier. Alas my wife had given up by this stage so we left to continue our journey. Lots of interest in the flight of locks, as to be expected, and probably loads of fun in summer, but TWO QUID to park in a pub car park ?? I shold coco !

clean but soul less venue which goes away from what a traditional pub should be, pleasant setting but not especially friendly or welcoming. Prefered the Bridge 61 accross the canal. Classic example of a good pub ruined by the big breweries "improvements". It might as well be a Beefeater etc.
