The food is very good here and not too expensive. Lunch for me and the missus plus a drink each came to just under 30.
The beer looks like standard Chef & Brewer choices.

Ok for a cheap eat out meal-and usualy 1/2 real ales in not bad condition. Its not realy a pub but quick food outlet realy. Last time I went in there- a coach full of Japaneese tourist were dropped off for an evening meal-presumably as part of a traditional pub night included in the holiday deal. Dont know if they enjoyed the meal but the guys seemed to love the guinness-which is good for the place. I did try to get the odd one to try Spitfire ,(as an English drink) but I think they stuck with what they knew. (Yes I do know Guinness is actualy brewed from a London Porter Ale recipe) Perhaps a good stopping point for lunch prior to an afternoon strolling in the beautiful Burnaham beeches and a couple of pints later in one of the pubs in the forest .

OK if you want a typical Chef&Brewer Microwave lunch....wouldn't call it a pub in any sense of the word though.
