Drove past today and the pub has been totally demolished with new housing being built on the site.

Such a shame as never got to go in this place and it does sound like it was a proper village pub too.

Website for the new builds on the site says that they are gonna build a wine bar also on this site. That does sound a little strange to me as a modern wine bar here would be totally ridiculous.

Watch and wait on this one.

Closed. Planning permission in to build houses and a wine bar on the site.

Maybe they were having a very bad day. Very surly and rude barmaid and a lot of swearing and shouting from back room. Almost empty apart from drunk in corner and one man trying to get as many pints in as possible in his lunch break. No ambience.

A great village local with welcoming staff for visitors old and new. A traditional mix of vibrant charactors. Good selection of real ales all very well kept. Local ciders available. Real home cooked food in generous portions. Good to see picked eggs behind the bar too. Handy for refreshment stop near the airport. Worth seeking out.

I spent a couple of hours in the Aylesbeare Inn recently and can safely say that it was a unique experience. A more intoxicating blend of refreshments, locals and pork products you'd have to go a long way to better. Go there immediately if you can.
