| The Horse & Jockey in Manton was my final pub of the weekend. It is a small country pub with a bar area to the left as you enter and a dining area to the right. The car park is fairly large. It is situated next to Rutland Water and a couple of cyclists arrived the same time as me. I'd imagine it gets busy in summer months. | Pretty much agree with Paul. very freindly staff, very quick turnaround on food which is a tad pricy but quite food. limited choice of beers, two at 3.6% and one at 5%. The latter being the !ocal 'fell at the first', a decent brew. This pub is almost exactly half way round the circular bike track of Rutland Water, so makes a good spot to rest and let your saddle cool. Recommend. keystone - 16 Aug 2011 19:20 |
| The Grainstore Brewery "Cooking" ale was in good order as was the house special "Fall at the First". Greene King IPA also available. Food and drink is somewhat expensive but the food is good and plentiful and overall it is a nice pub and very popular. Would visit again. paul_d102 - 29 May 2011 22:31 |
