Fantastic dog friendly pub, not a jukebox or fruit machine on the premises but a wide choice (ever changing) of real ales and the most startlingly good food. (Surprisingly reasonable too) Excellent shellfish, Sunday Roasts and unusual dishes all cooked on the premises, but still very much a pub not a restaurant. Open fires, small garden but big river walk access - good easy parking and a very easy going pub all round. In my opinion exactly what a country pub should be. Apparently have quite random bands/magicians/pianists turning up on occasion but not on the 4 or 5 days when I have been there.

A place full of character and dogs. On entering you would be forgiven for thinking "scruffy" but away from the bar area things are smarter. A good range of proper beer on offer with the barman on hand to advise. An interesting choice of food. It seems that the cash only regime has given way. If dogs freak you out stay away, if good beer food and company are your thing give it a try.

Was slightly dissapointed with this pub although it does have character.
Found the landlord a bit odd and rude too. 6/10

Love this pub. The food is always fantastic - last Sunday 14 Feb. had spanish squid stew which we ate outside in the sunshine - absolute heaven. Always friendly with excellent range of guest beers and good wines.

Dogs are very welcome which makes a change and there is a beautiful river walk just over the road to enjoy before or after. Oh if only there were all like this.

Only one issue is it's a cash or cheque only pub and have been caught out a few times.

A proper pub with with locals sitting around supping their pints and dogs enjoying the company.Friendly helpful staff and a good selection of food on the blackboard menu with many of the items available as starters or mains. The freshly cooked food was most enjoyable but the price was reflected in the quality Although not cheap it was well worth the money.
