The Cover Bridge has 7 beers on handpump including regulars Black Sheep Bitter, Theaskston Bitter & Old Peculiar and Timothy Taylor Landlord. Also up to 3 changing guests including Barngates Cat Nap & BAD Comfortably Numb on a recent visit. It has a decent size garden overlooking the River Cover and this year has a splendid flower display planted up by one of the regulars.

Traditional old Yorkshire inn with a small beer garden next to the river Cover. As others say below: a nice range (3 or 4) interesting local ales (e.g. no Black Sheep or Theakstons) and two proper farmhouse ciders. All in good condition and reasonable prices. The food was good value, simple, home cooked and hearty: just the job. Definitely a local pub that does food, rather than anything gastro.
The pub looks a little bit rough and ready but friendly and cosy inside (if you can figure out the door handles!). Popular with the no-nonsense locals but friendly enough atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you are an ale drinker or real pub aficionado around Coverdale or Wensleydale.

What a lovely pub in most idyllic countryside. We had Wensleydale Semmerwater summer ale as well as Theaksons OP and both were in excellent condition. Friendly staff and a homely atmosphere.

As ever the Cover Bridge is always worth a visit to discover which 3 guest beers will feature. Usually beers from Yorkshire and often from local micros including Mithrill, Yorkshire Dales, Wensleydale and Walls County Town and in the 3.8 to 4% range.

Called in again while in the area. Previous comment still stands and they've now won CAMRA branch pub of the year.
