Had some very good cider there the other day but can't afford their food. Great decor though, very different from the 70s when we first went there.

A great contempory local for us. Local beers were three different Dark Stars and Harveys Best. Really good atmosphere. Menu looked good. Don't understand previous comments, once a dirty flee pit now a stunning pub!

Agree with previous reviews.
Overpriced and pretentious gastropub.
Apparently taken over by the same people who run The Half Moon in Warninglid hence the atmosphere of a commercial enterprise rather than a village pub.
You pays your money but you dont always get what you pay for.

not that impressed. Bit of a soulless joint. Full of people who weren't drinking. Bar staff very miserable. Pastries on the bar

poncy beyond belief

Used to be a good pub, used to have character and be a big part of the Independent State of Cuckfield movement.

And now? A totally ****y refit that could be the carbon copy of any trendy drinking hole in Brighton, London, Manchester - it has become the exact antithesis of what a village pub should be. Refurbing a pub like this should be a criminal offence.
