A Saturday afternoon visit to Morecambe for football with my first stop for a pint being the Palatine.

A healthy selection of 6 ales across the 8 hand pumps. 3 from Lancaster Brewery, 2 from Kirkby Lonsdale and the remaining ale from Allgates. My pints of Kirkby Lonsdale Loose Head @ 3.7% were both very good.

Only a few punters in during my lunchtime visit. The interior has stripped wooden floor and exposed brickwork the wooden tables and chairs compliment the wooden bar and ambient lighting gives the pub a nice feel to it.

Food available, I didn't look at a menu but a chap near me ordered a sandwich and it looked good.

Good start to the day and yet another pub in Lancashire ticked.

Reasonable pub with a view out to sea (or is it across the Bay?). Decent ale though maybe a slight emphasis on food over beer. The Lancaster red was a nice pint.

Good choice of cask beers including 4 of Lancaster Brewery's offerings (Amber, Blonde, Black and Red). Impressed that when a customer indicated that the Amber was below par it was instantly taken off and the barrel changed; the complainant's beer was changed for the stronger and more expensive Red without surcharge, at which another customer requested (and received) a similar replacement (fair enough). The man in charge was Daniel Lambert (his namesake was the fattest man in England and is buried in Stamford). Well worth a visit.

Nice place, decent selection of ales. That's the good bit. Our early evening visit was ruined by incessant, annoyingly loud rave-type music. The rest of the clientele looked too old to be aficionados of that sort of stuff. Tried the upstairs lounge - no respite from the aural assault.

Off after one pint, we would otherwise have happily stayed longer

Decent selection of 8 cask ales, seemingly one of the only decent pubs in Morecambe.
