user reviews of the George Inn, Gravesend

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Well the missus got the surprise of her life last weekend when we popped down into the George Inn. She'd somehow got it into her head we'd be up the West end chompin on some tapas. However I must admit the scampi consumed was nothing short of spectacular, the knockers on the barmaid weren't bad either. The dart board could do with a spring clean, and the local's conversation verged on racist. Didn't spoil a top night in your old fashioned "what you see is what you get" boozer.

Up the toon

Extremely loud music ruins the ambience of this pub. Beer no of the highest quality and full of hardened drinkers and down and outs from the huge estate. A personal shop opposite does not help matters

"No music" comment out of date. Extremely loud jukebox making conversation difficult. No ales on and the kronenbourg was rank. Slightly scary regulars, staff was friendly enough. The pool table was old and irregular making play interesting. A disappointment although there is a sex shop next door for those so inclined.

Good, traditional solid working class pub. No music. Age 50 and up. Brains and Flowers Original. Clean, friendly market traders pub. Seating outside. Central bar. Lack of personal pieces and pictures gives the place a "just moved in" feel. Pool table in rear room. The Brains was slightly flabby, but I liked the pub.
