Yet another Donnington Brewery owned pub.

Have to disagree with the comment below of:
"A lovely situation looking out over the village green."

In reality, the pub overlooks the car park, then a patch of grass with no activity whatsover.

The pub keeps old fashioned hours and was about to close when we arrived at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.
The landlady very kindly offered to serve us drinks, which we were allowed to finish in the beer garden after she left.

An ok pub, but not the picturesque country pub I was expecting from previous reviews.

Can't really disagree with the last commenter, and the Donnington BB was very good value for the area at 2.40 a pint. I had an appetising and good value baguette, but to my mind some of the menu has "gastro" aspirations that don't really match the pub. Having said that, it certainly draws the customers in.

A lovely situation looking out over the village green.

Lovely Cotswold village. Donningtons country, so just their BB & SBA, but I like them both so thats OK I guess !! Good honest reasonably-priced pub food, good veggie choice, but not gourmet eating. The staff have been friendly and helpful when weve been there. Look out for Molly the pub cat. Nice garden. Locals bar and two more restaurant-style areas. A bit old-fashioned, a typical Donningtons pub really.

went in here before ringing the bells at the nearby church, had a nice baguette and the others i was with said there food was nice, also tried the treacle sponge, delightful! when we first walked in we ordered 8 pints of Donnington SBA and it was at the end of the barrel, the landlady was quite happy to change the barrel as you would expect from a Camra listed pub, but what made me slightly angry was the fact that she put the new barrel on the same hand pump without cleaning it!! i was not impressed and the new ale wasn't quite clear, it also made me think that if we hadn't have said anything to her she would have happily carried on serving this ale to more unasuming customers. Having said all this, it is a nice pub with a great country feel, but if im ever in this area again i may find somewhere else.

Went here for lunch with friends; average priced bar meals; reasonable size portions, good fresh ingredients and food arrived quickly; so no complaints regarding the kitchen.
Unfortunately 'front of house' was a different story: the landlady's hostile approach was quite unacceptable. I suggest a customer care course wouldn't go amiss. It's not the first time we have received an unfriendly welcome here, but it will be the last-we won't be returning.
